SKIDBY, a parish, in the union of Beverley, Hunsley-Beacon division of the wapentake of Harthill, E. riding of York, 3 miles (S. by W.) from Beverley; containing 361 inhabitants.
The parish comprises 1497a. 1r. 22p., of which by far the greater portion is arable: the village is long and scattered, lying on the eastern edge of the Wolds.
The living is a perpetual curacy, annexed to the vicarage of Cottingham: the church is dedicated to St. Michael.
There are places of worship for Wesleyans and Baptists.
