Barbourne Ecclesiastical Parish also known as Worcester St Stephen was created in 1862 from Claines Ecclesiastical Parish. It was situated in the East Worcester Rural Deanery from 1861 to 1821, the Inner Worcester Rural Deanery 1921 to 1926, Worcester Rural Deanery from 1926 to 1973 and Worcester East Rural Deanery from 1974 onwards.

BARBOURNE, a chapelry in Claines parish; in the N vicinity of Worcester city. Pop., about 1,400. Living, a p. curacy. The church is a handsome edifice of 1864.
