Parish History
The Imperial Gazetteer of England & Wales 1870
LLANFAELOG, a village and a parish in the district and county of Anglesey. The village stands near the coast and near Ty-Croes r. station, 3½ miles NNW of Aberffraw.
The parish contains also the hamlet of Pengornisiog; and its Post town is Gwindy, under Llangefni, I Anglesey. Acres, 2,732; of which 430 are water. Real property, £1,889. Pop., 763. Houses, 172. The property is subdivided. There are two cromlechs. Many of the inhabitants are employed in fishing.
The living is a p. curacy, annexed to the rectory of Llanbeulan, in the diocese of Bangor. The church is dedicated to St. Maelog; is a modern structure; and occupies the site of one built in the 7th century. There is a Calvinistic Methodist chapel.
