Berrington The Parliamentary Gazetteer of England and Wales 1851

Berrington, a parish in the hund. of Condover, union of Atcham, county of Salop; 5 miles south-east by south of Shrewsbury, intersected by the Severn, which is here navigable. Living, a rectory, formerly in the archd. of Salop and dio. of Lichfield and Coventry, now in the dio. of Chester; valued at £10 12s. 1d.; gross income £400. Patron, in 1835, Lord Berwick. There are three daily schools here. Pop., in 1801, 603; in 1831, 684. Houses 77. Acres 2,920. A.P. £4,226. Poor rates, in 1837, £339.
