Excerpt from Nottinghamshire Parish Registers, Vol. 5: Marriages; Rushcliffe Wapentake, First Part
The method followed in making these abstracts is the same as that adopted in the previous volumes of this series. The spelling of the surnames has been preserved exactly as in the registers, while that of the christian names has usually. Been modernised.
The registers here given have been transcribed from the originals by the Rev. C. S. Millard, the Rev. John Clough, the Rev. Owen Orton, the Rev. J. R. Hughes, and Major G. C. Robertson, by the kind permission of the incumbents. The names of the latter are mentioned under their respective parishes.
The reader must remember that these extracts are not legal evidence, and that for certificates application must be made to the local clergy in charge of the registers.
