Stanley St Ann an Ecclesiastical Parish in the county of Lancashire created in 1886 from West Derby Ecclesiastical Parish. The ecclesiastical boundaries of Stanley St Ann were altered in 1909 with the creation of Liverpool St Mark, Edge Lane Ecclesiastical Parish, and in 1913 with the creation of Liverpool Stanley St Paul Ecclesiastical Parish. Stanley St Ann is suburban to Liverpool and is situated in the area of Liverpool known as Old Swan.

STANLEY, a chapelry in West Derby parish, Lancashire; suburban to Liverpool, and 1½ mile NNE of Edgehill r. station. It contains Liverpool cattle-market and Old Swan; the latter of which has a post-office under Liverpool. The statistics are returned with the parish. The manor belongs to the Marquis of Salisbury. There are extensive borax works. The living is a p. curacy in the diocese of Chester. Value, £150. Patron, the Rev. T. Gardner. The church is in plain Grecian style. There are chapels for Independents, Wesleyans, and Roman Catholics.

OLD SWAN, a village in Stanley chapelry, West Derby township and parish, Lancashire; 3 miles E of Liverpool. It has a post-office under Liverpool, St. Oswald’s Roman Catholic chapel, and St. Anne’s national school; and in its neighbourhood are glass-works, a rope manufactory, and borax works.
