ABBOTT’S ANN is a village and parish on Pillhill brook, in Andover Union and division, partly in the Hundred of Wherwell, but chiefly in the Hundred of Andover, North Hants, about 2 miles south west of Andover, 69 from London, and 1 mile from the Andover canal, containing, with the tithing of Little Ann, 590 inhabitants and 3,351 acres.

Here are National and Infant schools, and a place of worship for Independents. The Rev Thomas Best is lord of the manor.

LITTLE ANN lies to the east; St John’s Cross half-a-mile south; Prospect House, 2 miles south west; Bury Hill is a large double encampment at the coufluence of the Pillhill brook and the Anton river.
