The Shields Daily News for 7 May 1915 reports:
“STEALING MONEY FROM A GAS METER.
At North Shields today, Jesse Rudd, of Orten’s Court, Tynemouth, was committed to prison for seven days for stealing money from a gas meter at Tynemouth, the property of the Tynemouth Gas Co. on the 5th inst.”
