WICKEN, a parish, with a village, in Newmarket district, Cambridge; 2¾ miles SSW of Soham, and 7 NW of Newmarket r. station. Post town, Soham. Acres, 3,812. Real property, £7,363. Pop., 995. Houses, 237. The property is much subdivided. Ancient coins and other antiquities have been found. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Ely. Value, £90. Patron, the Church Patronage Society. The church is ancient. There are two Methodist chapels and an endowed school.
