Analyst, City, appointed by the Town Council under the Adulteration of Food Act. His duties are to examine and test samples of food and drinks as to purity or otherwise, and the fees he receives from such are handed over to the City Treasurer. The Analyst’s yearly allowance for laboratory and expenses connected therewith is £50. The appointment is held by F. W. Stoddart, and the laboratory is in the Freemasons’ Hall, Park street.
