Stocks Arrowsmiths Dictionary of Bristol 1884

The last exhibition of paying penalty in the stocks in this city was on Redcliff hill in August, 1826, by two men for three hours, who refused to pay a fine for unseemly behaviour during a funeral in Redcliff church.
