Hello Joy,
Thanks for the comment and glad you like it. It will take a while to get everything loaded on to the site, photos will be added towards the end as I will need to upgrade the subscription due to the amount of space needed so it makes sense to add the transcriptions first while it is cheaper. I can add forums to the new site and it would be helpful to know if people want these and if so what sort of things they want in a forum. This is everyones chance to tell me what you want from PM and then if I can do it I will.

Hello Robert,
I’ve looked through the PRs that I have for St. Michael in Bedwardine, Worcester and can’t find a birth date or death date for William. Below are the only entries for Eyton that I can find in the registers. The baptisms look as if they are for William’s children, which you probably already have, but I’ve listed them in case you haven’t.

Hello Rachel, thanks for your comment. Not being from Northamptonshire I didn’t know that it was pronounced quite differently from its spelling, this could prove very useful for people tracing there family from that area.

Although the parish is Chelveston-cum-Caldecott, the actual place is two adjoining villages, Chelveston and Caldecott. Until fairly recently there was a USAF base there.
For anyone with Chelveston ancestors, the name was always pronounced ‘Chelson’ (or Chelsun) by the locals. So if you have someone coming from a place spelt like that, it is because in answer to the question ‘Place of birth?’ the reply would be ‘Chelsun’

Yes, thank you for creating such an innovative and helpful website! I am struggling to find ANY information about my father, his siblings, and parents who had ties to in Manchester, Lancashire; Warsaw, Wrocław and Lemberg (now Lviv, Ukraine) in Poland; and possibly Ireland before WWII. Their imprisonment in concentrations camps and subsequent dispersal & emigrations complicated my research exceedingly. I don’t even know my paternal grandmother’s maiden surname! (OK, venting complete.) Your data and sources have renewed my determination! Thank you.

Hello John, the book I have only contains marriages for Sevenhampton. There are some earlier ones to be added to the site which I will try and get done in the near future. If you are desperate for them then let me know and I’ll prioritise them. The book ends at 1837 so there won’t be any data for later years.

I haven’t added much lately as I have been having trouble with my hands, a nasty flare up of rheumatoid arthritis which makes it difficult bashing away at the keyboard but it is beginning to calm down now so hopefully there will be some new additions soon.

Does your web-site contain details of the registers for Sevenhampton, (near Andoversford) for the period 1605 to 1755 (Volume one to which your notes refer).

I was delighted with the information for the later years to 1837 but is there any data for years beyond that too.?

Hi Chris,
Happy New Year. Parishchat, has been retired as it was hacked several times and with my dodgy internet connection it was proving very difficult to maintain. If people want a forum we could resurrect the yuku boards which are maintained by a commercial company rather than me swearing at my internet connection. Hope the weather in France has been better than here the last few weeks. We are nearly drowning here in Mid Wales and the wind was really bad the other day. Getting very fed up of the mud! I suppose I shouldn’t moan too much as I have just been for a fab walk with the dogs for an hour. No cars or people, just sheep, sheep and more sheep and a few bunnies. Nearly got run over by a red kite and the views were fantastic. You could see the mountains miles away. Truly bliss! Hope France is proving as nice for you.

Thank you for this post, thanks to you I have found the baptism of three of my great-great-great-great-grandfather’s siblings, the Mounds. I have noticed at the end of each year there appears to be a signature by “Thomas Mound, Ch.W.”. I know Thomas Mound was the father of my ancestor, but what does Ch. W. mean? Church Warden perhaps? Was he the local vicar perhaps? Thanks!

Sorry there are no baptisms for Turkdean as I haven’t come across a book with them in to buy … yet! Books of Gloucestershire parish registers don’t come up for sale very often and if they do then they are usually the Phillimore’s Marriages.
