CHERITON, a parish in Swansea district, Glamorgan; on the Burry estuary, 8 ½ miles WSW of Loughor r. station, and 13 W of Swansea. Post-town, Reynoldstone, under Swansea. Acres, 1,419; of which 100 are water. Real property, £1,022. Pop., 230. Houses, 53. The property is subdivided. Some traces exist of Boville castle. The living is a rectory in the diocese of St. David’s. Value, £150. Patron, the Prince of Wales. The church is ancient.
