Abercarn Monmouth Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales Circa 1870

Abercarn, a station on the Western Valleys Monmouth railway, 10 ½ miles NNW of Newport, Monmouth. Here is a post-office under Newport, Monmouth; and adjacent are extensive coal and coke works, and the wooded park of Abercarn House, a seat of Lord Llanover.
