I think Joseph Saville was my gr gr gr grandfather on my mothers side. He was a butcher and glue manufacturer. I believe he was born around 1796 (Wakefield) but cannot find the correct date. Can you help?. Mike (2/7/2011)

Hi Mike, I have had a look at some of my books on Wakefield and can’t see at the moment any reference to your Joseph Saville. There was a very large and important family of Savilles in the Wakefield area but were very much gentry and therefore not likely to be a butcher and glue manufacturer. As some of my family came from the Wakefield area it may be that I come across something so I will keep you in mind and post a comment if I do find anything. Sorry I can’t be of more help at the moment.
