Kilgarring, or Kilgarran, is a long town, consisting chiefly of one street, situated upon the north bank of the Teivy, two hundred and twenty-eight miles from London, and governed by a portreeve and bailiffs. Here are the ruins of a castle. It has a market on Wednesday, and fairs Aug. 21, and November 12. – The principal inhabitants are the following:
