Moyddyn, a hundred in the S of Cardigan; bounded, on the N, by Ilar, – on the E, by Penarth, – on the S, by the river Teifi, separating it from Carmarthenshire, – on the W. by Troedyraur, – on the NW, by Cardigan bay; containing Bettws-Bleddrws parish, thirteen other parishes, and parts of four other parishes; and cut into two divisions, lower and upper. Acres, of the l. div., 34,898. Pop. in 1851, 8,169. Houses, 1,900. Pop. of the u. div., 45,486.Pop. in 1851, 7,112. Houses. 1,495. Pop. of the whole in 1861, 15,553. Houses, 3,536.
