Arley Congregational Arrowsmiths Dictionary of Bristol 1884

Arley, Cheltenham road, top of Stokes’ croft, the foundation stone of which was laid by R. Ash, 22nd May, 1845, is in the Italian style of architecture, cruciform shape. The first sermon delivered within it was on the 20th June, 1855, by the Rev. J. Angell James.
